One important aspect of this year’s conference was a thorough review of the newly released final IRS FSA regs. We were privileged to have one of the nation’s leading benefits attorneys, Darcy Hitesman, sort through the changes for us. Darcy’s past presentations have always been well received by the conference attendees, and this year she not only gave a great General Presentation on the regs to the entire group, but she also participated in two Special Interest Group Sessions, giving personal attention to issues clients brought from home.

We were also pleased to have the participation and support of our vendor partners (Evolution Benefits, Metavante, WorldView, and Eliza), and vendor guest (First Data Healthcare), all of whom who gave us the latest scoop on technological advances in the benefits arena. These partners make a significant contribution to the conference, both in time and financial support; we couldn’t do it without them!

Whether participating in numerous General Sessions or any of 41 breakout sessions, or enjoying the pool and spa facilities while rummaging through public facilities to secure the ever-so-valuable scavenger hunt items, everyone seemed to have a great time mixing a little pleasure with their business. Some, like Doug Auten of Benefit Services of Hawaii and Erin Quirk of Evolution Benefits even won great prizes!

Because we considered making some changes to future conferences, we asked the attendees how they felt about changing the format of the conference. Without exception, they let us know that this format works well for them and the idea of continuing our national conference was crucial to their business success.

As a result, we have firmed up our plans for the 21st Annual Client Conference, to be held at the Green Valley Ranch Resort, in Henderson NV, from April 26-29, 2009. Watch this website for information regarding registration for next year’s conference!
